Sad to hear that Dinger Bell has passed….I was with Cyclops in the late 1960’s ……it was at the height of the ‘Cold War’ and 2RTR was playing an important role with 7th Armoured Brigade part of BAOR. Dinger was on the crew of 21B with some of my old friends…..Phil Green has posted an excellent photo of troop that includes Dinger Bell.
It’s always sad to see the passing of our old friends from 2RTR…..condolences to the family and the many friends of Alan ‘Dinger’ Bell on this sad occasion …..RIP Alan ‘Dinger’ Bell your duty done.
Col’ (“Hello Alpha, this is 63…”Happy days”… 🍺 ) you might like to post again on 2RTR…back in the day, as that’s where Dinger’s grandson, Tyler, got in touch. I’ll try posting another piccie from ’69, with Dinger at the back of the group…
Dinger and I were on the same crew in the late 60s… 21B, with Percy Parr, Cmdr, Ray Humphries as Op/Ldr, Dinger/Alan as Gnr and me as the Dvr. If I can successfully post a pic, Dinger is 3rd from front in the right-hand “column”… rest in peace my friend…
May You Rest in Peace Dinger, I did not serve along side you, but I have heard of great things from those that did, FN.
RIP Dinger 🥲
RIP Dinger.

Rest In Peace Dinger while I cannot remember you I did serve at the same time being part of Cyclops in those days. A long time ago. Fear Naught
