Captain Ginge as my Grandson Bobby called him after a day out on the broads. A great fun loving guy, with a fantastic sense of humour. RIP Ginge, sorely missed. ????
RIP Ginge, never forgot being taken out to a Disco while at Lulworth, Running out of fuel on the way back, sleeping in the back of the car and having to walk back into camp before first parade.
We all feel sadness when we lose an old friend, as I felt when told of his passing. Then at the same time a memory comes to mind of your first sight of the person who has passed. My first sighting of Ginge was him on his green scooter, ( I’m sure army green paint) lifting the main gate barrier so he could drive out of camp at Lulworth. Known for years remembered forever. An all round great guy. Lift the gates in heaven old mate. Jacko.
I am so very deeply saddened to see my good friend Ginge has departed. He never said how ill he was. My thoughts are with his family and my prayers are with you. You will be missed by me. Rest In Peace. Helen
This was very sad news today. RIP Ginge you along with many others before you were one of the best members of 2RTR, always smiling and helpful. Until we meet again FN.
Clive has asked me to post this for him.
Sincere condolences to all of Ginge’s family. He was a top bloke, always cheerful, even when having a strip wash in the freezing cold he would be singing his head off (N.I. training Sennelager) Fear Naught Ginge.
Rest i Peace my friend – see you again soon – last time we were together you joined a reformed ‘Cup’ on stage at the 2017 reunion – a fitting farewell to you and Mick.
Known Ginge since joining the Regt. Been invited to his home and had always been welcome. Lose of a very dear friend and college. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. RIP Ginge, Fear Naught till we meet in the green fields.
